J T was a perfect 10. A 5 rating is simply not enough.
From the moment we walked into the lobby, the volume was just right. Each song Akon played sounded fresh and new. The screen visuals were so nicely done. Saving best for last, staff were upbeat, courteous, and competent. The stage was an open platform which gave it a great sight line from almost any seat, certainly from ours on the left side. Akon's quiet humor was often part of the mix, and above all, projected the care, friendship, and again, comfortable familiarity that permeated the entire concert. Jackson Brown was delightfully familiar and comfortable like a favorite sweater. The last two songs before intermission, with Akon coming onstage in a duet and then background guitar, brought Jackson Brown back to sing with him, along with his wife and son singing, excellent harmony of his supporting singers, rapport with the crowd. I loved the descending "leaf lights"; his grace shining through everything, songs, bantering with the band. I can't imagine a more heartwarming concert.
